23 miles, 42,974 steps, found a very useable adjustable (Crescent) wrench, a number of bits, a small beat-up socket, two pennies, two nickels, one dime and a set of Saturn car keys, no car just the keys...saw three deer, one set of cyclists from Tennessee on their way to San Fran, and a group from Washington but they started in Jackson Hole, WY on their way to a nice little loop...same old gorgeous scenery, weather a wee bit warm but a constant breeze so walking life is good...getting close to having to decide the route through Alberta, sort of looks like we will get off #3 around Pincher Creek, game day decisions...been spending a good deal of time while on the road thinking about the official honorees, deceased and alive, having quite the time getting my brain around the randomness of life, the meaning of which I guess we get to assign...glad to be alive, glad to be able to walk...thanks again for all the honks 'n waves...live is good...cheers!!!

amazing things happen on this walk! Does everyone have a bucket list of things they want to do before they die? I do but sometimes it changes. One was whitewater rafting and once years ago while youngest daughter Carolin ( Cec's) was visiting we managed to go up to Squamish and had a ball. Oops a soak, even saw a bear along the side of the river. That was before digital camera days. Another I dropped from my list was sky diving because ever tho I love the idea of soaring, weightless in the sky,I was really afraid of the thump, landing - another was having an appalation Autoharp and learning how to play all over again after thirty years or so. art remembered and on our trek thro Cranbrook he ran across Kootenay pawnbrokers and stopped in, found one but did not tell me just using the Walkie Talkie guided me to the next stopping and waiting place. Gary, the owner, was waiting for me and showed me the Autoharp . I put it to my shoulder and strummed a few bars. It had a Brocken string and very out of tune, but that did not matter. I asked Gary if it had a tuning wrench and he came up with its case, and the needed wrench. Now Art had given Gary the card and before Ingotnthere, he had been able to read some of the story. Gary placed the Autoharp in the case and said just like that as he handed it to me. " For You ". He was so impressed with what we were doing, actually what Art was doing, that he gave it to me as a gift. Of course that brought a few tears and a hug from me. what a generous thi g to do . If you are ever passing thro Cranbrook BC stop by at 2420 30 Ave North and see what you might find there. I did not even have time to look any farther as it was past closing time, but I left like on angel wings and when I get the string replaced in Lethbridge and have it tuned I will have a picture of me playing it and get Victor to put it on the. You are doing amazing and, at last tally, I think you were even ahead of your mileage schedule and 325(ish)km from your Raymond, Alberta destination.
